VISION

SNAME was founded in 1893 with the vision of being the premier society for naval architects and marine engineers in the world. Over our 115 year history, we have grown to include members throughout the world and have established standards of membership, policies and procedures to run a global technical society of volunteer leaders and members. We have successfully sustained both our membership and our reputation through changing times. Together, we have built a solid foundation from which to grow. Project Voyager is our global initiative to launch an innovative period of growth for SNAME that will take us to a new level of excellence.

The Project Voyager initiative is comprehensive and intended to touch all aspects of the SNAME member experience. Designed to propel SNAME into a new period of growth and innovation, Project Voyager will combine new technological capabilities with members’ ability to network and collaborate with each other. By harnessing these relationships and enabling members to further connect with each other, Project Voyager will offer new member capabilities and benefits. We expect Project Voyager to grow our membership as well as our prestige.

BENEFITS FOR: WORK GROUPS / COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE / SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

SNAP COMMITTEE
Project Voyager is the brainchild of a close partnership between SNAME association executives and staff and the newly formed SNAME New Access Portal Committee (affectionately referred to as SNAP). The SNAP Committee has been instrumental in providing oversight to SNAME as they have undertaken new technology, branding and membership projects that have set the framework for how the society will look and function. The joint task force of SNAP and SNAME staff has provided a cross-functional viewpoint from which informed decisions are made with confidence and from an aggregated view as to what will serve the changing membership now and for many years into the future.
